Video: The Painting of Mountain Path
Mountain Path – Original Painting Available
Mountain Path was created en plein air in 22 sessions in the spring of 2021. At the end of the video above, I had decided the painting was finished, but as time went on, I realized that something didn’t sit right with me and I just made some changes in the spring of 2022. I feel that the composition and the way your eye flows through the painting improved dramatically. I renamed the painting, “Mountain Path.” It was painted on the White Rabbit Trail in Oredson Todd Woods, part of the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy. Click the thumbnail of the left to see what the painting looked like when I first thought it was finished. This is how it was at the end of the video above. The photo below is the finished version – as it is now.

“A painting is much less expensive than a bouquet of flowers. The painting lasts your whole life but you have to replace the flowers every week.”
